The name Ogunquit is an Abenaki Indian word for “beautiful place by the sea” and those Abenaki’s were right! Ogunquit is famous for its Marginal Way – stroll on a paved footpath with the Atlantic Ocean on one side of you, and gorgeous homes on the other. The Ogunquit Playhouse has an 86-year legacy of staging live professional theatre complete with stars of screen and stage, hand-picked for each production, earning national and international recognition.
