Newington is a unique, small town, located between Portsmouth and Dover. Completely bisected by Route 4, the northeast side of the highway is developed with industrial riverfront development and shopping malls. That leaves the other side of the highway for a charming riverfront community with a distinct small-town flavor and all the benefits of the tax revenue generated by the commercial side. It is the best of both worlds – the tax benefits of development with no impact on the rural nature of the community.
